Voter Guide · 8 November 2026
Check whether your name is on the UP voter list before polling day. Step-by-step guide using the official ECI voter portal, plus how to apply for a new voter ID or correct your details.
Your name must be on the electoral roll of your Assembly constituency to vote. Checking takes two minutes on the official ECI voter portal. This website does not run its own voter lookup — every check below happens on the official portal.
Carry your EPIC (voter ID card) to the polling station. If you do not have the physical card, the ECI allows other photo identity documents — the full list is published with the election schedule. Your name on the voter list matters more than the card itself.
| Task | Where to do it |
|---|---|
| Search your name in the voter list | voters.eci.gov.in |
| Apply for a new voter ID (Form 6) | voters.eci.gov.in |
| Correct name, address or photo (Form 8) | voters.eci.gov.in |
| Download digital voter ID (e-EPIC) | voters.eci.gov.in |
| Find your polling station | voters.eci.gov.in / CEO UP website |
If you have turned 18, you can enrol as a voter. Apply online through Form 6 on the ECI voter portal with proof of age and address. The ECI announces a last date for enrolment before each election — applications after that date are not included in the roll for that election, so do not wait for polling day.
On the official ECI portal voters.eci.gov.in, use 'Search in Electoral Roll' with your EPIC number or your name, district and constituency.
